Visitor Center Naturalists at the Leeper House are the first point of contact with those here to explore our vital South Central Texas wetlands. These Naturalists support the Visitor Center logistically through answering phone inquiries, processing visitors, lending out equipment, accepting entry fees, and more. Training provided.
Mitchell Lake Audubon Center is closed on Mondays and most major holidays. You will be notified if you are registered for a shift on a day we are closed.
Volunteers must pass a National Audubon Society background check before volunteering. If you do not already have one on file, the process can take 5–7 business days, so please register for shifts at least one week in advance.
