Shadow Food Run and Orientation at Trader Joe's Arboretum

Sunday, February 5th from 9:00am to Sunday, February 12th, 2017 11:00am

About

Thank you for your interest in Keep Austin Fed!

We are excited to meet you when you shadow a food run, where we pick up surplus food from a grocery store or restaurant and deliver it to a local community center or shelter.

We will also do a quick 30 minute orientation at 9:00am so that you are that much closer to becoming a volunteer!

Please register for the date that works best with your schedule and plan to meet a few other new volunteers in the process.

****You only need to attend ONE orientation. Please choose one date only.****
**The training/orientation is held within the Starbucks.**

Other steps to take on your way to becoming a Keep Austin Fed volunteer are:

1. Get your food handler's certificate in 2-3 hours at this link:

Arrive at the Starbucks at 9:00a.m. where you will meet one of our Trainers - and you will start with an orientation. We will then start the food run at 9:30am and work until the food is gone. We typically have anywhere from 500 to 2,000 pounds of food in crates on pallets, which will need to be separated into manageable loads for distribution to multiple locations.
