Lake Wilson Invasive Pull

Saturday, February 11th, 2023 from 10:00am to 12:00pm (CT)
This has ended. If you attended, let the organizer know by recording your Impact!

About

Protect this beautiful park by helping to remove non-native plants from the woodlands surrounding the lake!  Volunteers will gain instruction on winter invasive plant identification and removal techniques, and will help to remove bush honeysuckle and Chinese privet, allowing native plants a chance to emerge and establish.  Water and tools will be provided; volunteers should wear warm protective clothing and sturdy shoes.  No experience required!

Bonus: Thanks to our generous local businesses Basecamp Coffee Co. and Ozark Natural Foods, who are donating coffee and baked treats for the event.

And a special thanks to our co-hosts Pack Rat Outdoor Center and the UA Biology Dept who are the initiative and inertia behind this project!

Come have fun with us while making a difference!
