About

The Sprout Garden and Food Forest on Drake's campus is always in need of volunteers to help with tasks such as weeding, watering, harvesting, and general garden projects. A volunteer training will be provided, and then volunteers can help in the garden on their own schedule. Volunteers are needed for the upcoming growing season to help prepare the garden for the spring and summer months.

This opportunity is perfect for those who enjoy gardening and nature, or who want to gain gardening skills, and those who need to fulfill required service hours. It's conveniently located on campus and has flexible hours.

Open Garden Hours for Fall 2025 are on Mondays 12:30-2:30pm, and Tuesdays 3:30-5pm. If these hours do not work for you but you would like to come volunteer a different time, contact the coordinator.

After you sign up, a coordinator will be in touch with you for more information.
