About
REGISTER NOW FOR PEASE PARK PEOPLE SERVING THE PARK!
It’s My Park Day - Spring 2020 is set for Saturday, March 7th.
Register now to join Pease Park Conservancy for fun spring projects including riparian restoration efforts: native grass seeding, wildflower seeding; invasive ragweed removal, passive rainwater capture with mulch bars, and litter pick-up.
Native grasses and wildflowers provide habitat for birds, butterflies, bees, and other pollinators; improve rain infiltration, which reduces erosion and runoff; store carbon in the soil to help mitigate climate change; and provide colorful natural beauty for all to enjoy. Your efforts will help Pease Park Conservancy increase the ratio of native grasses & wildflowers while reducing the amount of ragweed.
We will create crescent-shaped mulch berms to provide catchment areas for rainwater on the downhill side of trees in Live Oak Meadow. The berms will slow the flow of water toward Shoal Creek while also capturing water to nourish the trees.
We will also be doing litter pick-up in Pease Park from MLK Jr Blvd north to 31st Street.
We serve the park so the park can serve you.
