Shopping Assistance: For Regency Pullman Senior Living

Regency Pullman located in Pullman, WA, offers Retirement and Assisted Living options with compassionate care in a professionally managed, carefully designed retirement community. Our focus on wellness and enabling residents to remain as independent as possible provides the perfect alternative for seniors who can no longer live on their own.

Opportunity Description: Come and assist seniors with their shopping list at various stores in Pullman/Moscow area. Ride the bus with us or meet up at the stores. Shopping happens most Tuesday’s runs from 1:00 PM--2:30 PM.

Days/Times: Most Tuesdays from 12:45 PM--3:00 PM.

• Application: Application and background check needed for this opportunity, and student can fill it out during initial volunteer time to be ready to volunteer again.
• Orientation: Participants will be walked through how to complete service upon contacting LendiBankhead (lbankhead@regency-pacific.com) when arriving for service.
• Other Requirements: Please dress appropriately for working with seniors.

VOLUNTEER RULES

Sign-In/Sign-Out- All volunteers are required to sign in at the front desk when arriving on the premises, and must sign out upon leaving the Community.

 Social Media/Cell Phone Usage- When entering the building, cell phones are to be off or placed on silent mode. Please do not text/call/email… while volunteering. Volunteers are strictly prohibited from taking/posting to social media any unauthorized photos or images of Community residents, resident family members, and employees. 

Smoking- Volunteers can smoke/vape only designated smoking areas. Volunteers are not permitted to smoke/vape in resident apartments, or anywhere inside the building.

 Emergency Procedures- When in the community, volunteers must cooperate with any fire drill or other emergency procedure, and should report any unsafe condition to the Life Engagement staff or the Administrator.

 Meals- Volunteers must follow the same rules as Community Guests regarding meals. There is a charge of $5/meal, and 24-hour notice prior to meal is required.

Visits- A volunteer must notify Life Engagement staff to request approval in advance for any planned visit to the Community by volunteer, and/or volunteer family members or friends.  

Dress- At all times, volunteers are expected to be neat, clean, and dress in attire appropriate to visit elders and perform their assigned responsibility.

 Solicitation- Volunteers must not solicit residents or staff for goods or services. A volunteer must not accept gifts from residents, neither monetary nor material.

 Use of Equipment- Volunteers must not use on-site equipment or laundry areas designated for resident personal use, except in the course of assisting residents.

 Volunteer Assignments- Volunteers are not assigned to provide activities in resident apartments, Volunteer activities are scheduled and conducted in Community common areas or as scheduled outings or planned Life Engagement events.

 Acknowledgment- Each volunteer must read and understand the “Volunteer Rules” explained in this document, agree to abide by the stated policies, and acknowledge that violation of policy can result in the Community suspending or ending service by the volunteer. A former volunteer who has been suspended can be denied access to Community premises.
