For National Beach Day, I met up with my freshman year roommate at Johnnie Mercers Pier and spent time walking along the beach picking up litter. It was a simple way to give back to a place I love while spending time outside with a friend and leaving the beach a little cleaner than we found it!🌊

I volunteered at the Food Bank and our main goal was to sort sweet potatoes into ten pound bags. Everyone there was super friendly and shared the same goal of wanting to help others in need. It's beautiful when strangers come together to make a difference. We worked side by side and found ways to organize, communicate, and problem-solve efficiently. This experience connected to my personal values because I've always loved helping others in any way, shape, or form. You truly never know what someone's going through, and even something as simple as sorting food can have the biggest impact. It was so rewarding when, at the end of the shift, we learned we had packed 4,375 pounds which is equivalent to 3,645 meals! This experience also shaped how I think about my future in business and leadership. In my future career, I want to lead by uplifting others, creating positive change, and remembering that leadership starts with kindness and service.
