    IRONMAN 70.3 Austin

Awesome group and a fun time working Aid Stop #4. Handed out food and drinks to hundreds of triathletes. A very supportive atmosphere.

    Photographer Volunteer Opportunity!!

Candlelight Ranch Is a fantastic oasis in the Texas Hill Country off of Lake Travis. I had a great time meeting with Lynette and learning about the history of the property and how it has grown to serve the hill country youth in a rehabilitating manner. I volunteered to spend a few hours taking promotional pictures of the landscape and many features of the ranch.

Noland @ Explore UT/UT Fire Prevention Services

I volunteered with Fire Prevention Services during Explore UT to help with the Sparky the Fire Dog photo booth and table. I assisted with set-up, Sparky the Fire Dog, and photographing visitors. The event was a big success!

    Inside Books Project

Inside books is awesome. Read letters from incarcerated Texans requesting books, and provide them with good book matches that meet their requests. These people truly appreciate what we do and it brings humanity back to those who need it most.

    Sunday Night Session

I spent my hours at the Sunday Night Inside Books session picking out books for current inmates in the Texas jail system. We read their letters, met their book requests and wrote them back before preparing the package to ship. I was pleasantly surprised to discover how unique and worthy of a cause the Inside Books project is. It feels great to know that I hopefully was able to give another human being any kind of pleasure in reading and learning and kind of highlights the worth of reading and continuing to learn on my own. I recommend to anyone wanting a chill, friendly atmosphere and a great sense of having done something really effective.

    Gateway Scholars at UT Austin

I volunteered for the all-day Explore UT shift helping to run the "Flags of UT's Global Village" table. It was a great experience to interact with all of the kids and teens so excited to be on campus. We helped them pick a country's flag to draw, handed out supplies, and rewarded them with stickers and other prizes. Overall, I would recommend volunteering for Explore UT to anyone. It is a cool way to pay forward your opportunity of being at UT!

    Beautify Blackshear

I had great time at Blackshear!! I ended up building benches with about 15 other people while other groups worked on other projects. I honestly have not had a better service experience at least in a very long time.
