I volunteered for the HopeFest'15 food service team. We prepared and distributed approximately 300 meals to attendees, venders, and other volunteers. I served as a table leaders, overseeing that the preparation of the plates was does efficiently and correctly while refilling the serving stations.
I assisted in the coordination of judges and evaluations.
I was one of the many inspectors that assessed all the food that we were sorting. By the end of the 3 hours, we had sorted over 8,000 pound of food, over 200 meals total.
I really enjoyed the opportunity to write to the soldiers, or Iron Rakkasans. It was a great experience to share the holiday spirit, even if they are oceans away.
On Thursday, September 18th, I volunteered at the College of Natural Science Career Fair. I really enjoyed interacting with the different companies, hearing their stories, and what they had to offer as a company. I helped a lot with setting up various booths along with managing the "Prep Tent", a designated area student could go to calm their nerves, freshen up, and even practice their speech.
