I volunteered with the USO at Fort Hood and assisted them in cleaning out their storage units and organizing their inventory at their location on base in preparation for their move to a new facility. This was a fun and rewarding experience and the staff at the USO were so kind. I will definitely be going back soon to volunteer more of my time with them.

I decided last minute to volunteer with "The Project 2016" on February 27th as a walk up volunteer because I had many friends participating in this event. I assisted in painting the interior of Dobie middle school and it was honestly a fun time being able to volunteer and paint with my friends and meet new people while I was working.
This again was the "Feed My People" event held every Tuesday and Thursday at 5 a.m. i went to this event quite a few times this semester because it was a good way to serve others and I enjoyed the experience with the friends I went with.
This again was the "Feed My People" event off of 11th street at the church. They hold this event every Tuesday and Thursday so I went with a couple of my friends and went to this same event multiple times because it was honestly a great experience.
On Tuesday and Thursday mornings, a church on 11th street hosts an event at 5.a.m. called "Feed my People." At this event, we come in around 5 a.m. and prepare breakfast food and coffee and at 530, we let the people in and we feed and serve the homeless. This is a great experience because I get the opportunity to serve others and the people who come are so kind and thankful that we wake up early and prepare this food for them. It's a great experience overall.
I volunteered at Inside books In Austin again and spent my time writing letters to and sending books to people in prison who may not have access to these resources. It was really great being able to help share these books with inmates because studies have shown that a majority of the inmates who read and maintain a level of intellectual activity are less likely to go back to prison.
This was such a fun volunteer opportunity to be able to write letters to our troops overseas and let then know how thankful we are and how proud we are of them.
I volunteered at inside books in Austin and sent books to inmates who wrote to and requested books from this organization. It was a fun and good learning experience.
