too hot for a 5 rating. ligustrum invasive plant work at Blakeney pond area of Walnut Creek Greenbelt Copperfield trail. with 1 other volunteer.
quiet solo morning pulling some johnson grass and bermuda grass at blakeney pond walnut creek nature trail. plenty left for future activity, for sure! spotted some type of scarab beetle on johnson grass so that one got to stay.
invasive plant management around Blakeney pond-ligustrum girdling and pulling of young trees in beaver den area. With 2 other volunteers. CAPP 411
Tarantula crossing the road on the way foreshadowed good things to come, despite missing the turn into the park and taking the "scenic" route. So many amazing photo ops. Knowledgeable guides. No Merlin app needed to ID bird calls. Saw many things would have missed on my own. DId find a couple of pieces of trash to pick up on my way out of the park near the cabin. Off leash was a bit unnerving, but all dogs were well behaved. The bee balm....amazing. Inspiring. Thank you!
5 volunteers (including myself) did invasive plant work: hedge parsley, ligustrum, and tallow along the drainage at the Blakeney pond trail entrance.
Invasive mustard and johnson grass removal at Copperfield Park with 3 more volunteers! 3 landscape compost bags removed with lovely wildflowers now more visible. Recent rains made pulling easier.
