About

Southwest Key Youth Mentoring Program provides mentors to youth ages 10-17 who are involved with or at-risk of being involved in the juvenile justice system. Mentors commit to serve as role models for their assigned mentee for a minimum of one year, providing support, encouragement and pro-social lifestyle development opportunities. They act as a resource and confidant to youth when personal and education problems occur.

    Youth Mentoring

We took a group out bowling and for pizza. We connected with them about what was going on in their lives and mainly just listened to them. Some of the kids were more eager to participate than others, but I think they just need more consistent positive adult role-models. We tried to simply give them an opportunity to be listened to and heard.
