Shift Details
| Shift Name | Food Recovery |
|---|---|
| Description | Volunteers will help rescue leftover food from the Drake dining hall, cafes and catering events, and transport to a local organization. In a typical shift, volunteers will retrieve leftover, untouched food from the Olmsted tunnels, weigh the food, and transport it to an identified community agency. The food recovery can take place anytime between 2 and 4pm, and typically only takes 30-45 minutes total. This opportunity has an environmental impact by keeping waste out of the landfill, and a social impact by putting the food into the hands of those who could use it in the community. Further instructions are provided in a confirmation email. Please be sure to review the details in that email when it comes time to volunteer. |
