Description
A Precious Child provides children in need with opportunities and resources to empower them to achieve their full potential. A Precious Child envisions every child growing up to be a secure, self-reliant, contributing member of their community. A Precious Child provides basic essentials to children and families in Colorado that are poverty-stricken, homeless, abused, at-risk or facing a huge life challenge and without access to basic needs through its twelve programs. Essentials distributed to disadvantaged and displaced children include, but are not limited to, clothing, coats, shoes, sports equipment, school supplies and toiletries. Volunteers will be working in one of two volunteer roles:
  • Donation Center Volunteer: The role of our Donation Center volunteers is to help process incoming community donations and prepare them for distribution to families. Children and families shop in our Resource Center, which is set up like a retail store, for clothing items and basic essentials, all provided at no charge.

  • Store Volunteer: The role of our Store Volunteer is to create a welcoming atmosphere by providing a dignified and respectful shopping experience. This position assists clients during their shopping visit, replenishes and organizes areas throughout the store and checks out clients.
