Church World Service Southeast

Church World Service (CWS) is a not-for-profit, faith-based organization transforming communities around the globe through just and sustainable solutions to hunger, poverty, displacement, and disaster. CWS Florida welcomes, feeds, and clothes newcomers; reunites and strengthens families, and enables resettled immigrants to become self-sufficient and integrated members of US society.

CWS first opened an office in Miami, Florida in 1960 in response to the immediate needs of refugees fleeing Cuba during the aftermath of the revolution. Since then, CWS Florida has grown and expanded its programs into Broward and Palm Beach County, providing continued resettlement and legal support to subsequent waves of refugees from Cuba, Colombia, The Democratic Republic of Congo, Burma, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, as well as Cubans and Haitians Entrants and other immigrant groups.
