About
The work of Downtown Boulder encompasses the missions and visions of three main organizational branches: the Downtown Boulder Partnership (DBP), the Downtown Boulder Business Improvement District (BID), and Downtown Boulder Community Initiatives (DBCI). Each branch has it's own focus (see descriptions below), but all work together to support a thriving downtown Boulder community.
Downtown Boulder Partnership (DBP)
DBP is a 501(c)(6) organization dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of downtown as the heart of the greater Boulder community. As the umbrella organization for the BID and DBCI- a 501(c)(3), the Partnership works tirelessly to make downtown Boulder a national model of success.
Downtown Boulder Business Improvement District (BID)
The BID is a quasi-municipal corporation and political subdivision of the State of Colorado formed in 1999. The BID encompasses a 49-block taxing district approved by downtown property owners to cultivate a cleaner, safer and more vibrant downtown community. The tax revenue is used by the BID to provide maintenance services that supplement those provided by the City of Boulder and to provide a comprehensive consumer marketing and communication program.
Downtown Boulder Community Initiatives (DBCI)
DBCI (formerly known as the Downtown Boulder Foundation) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit created in 2017. The organization's mission is to engage visitors and locals alike through arts, culture, innovation and inclusive, community-driven experiences in downtown Boulder. DBCI's vision is a downtown Boulder that is: A place that welcomes and is accessible to all; A canvas to celebrate the creativity and unique essence of Boulder; A vibrant hub of economic activity and innovation; and Part of the larger Boulder community, seeking to partner in civic solutions for the greater good. The Downtown Boulder Community Initiatives areas of focus include cultural experiences, community connection and the future of our downtown.
