Student Engagement

About

The Student Engagement Team is one of the signature programs within the Volunteer Action Center (VAC). We exist to create meaningful service opportunities for University of Arkansas students to connect the campus to the Northwest Arkansas community.

Our Events and Programs:
  • Get Your 10 (GY10)
    • GY10 is a membership program aimed to encourage UofA students to perform acts of service throughout the academic year. Once a student reaches 10 hours, they become a VAC member and receive perks that can be obtained in the Center for Community Engagement office. As students gain more hours, they are eligible for additional perks and awards
  • Find Your Impact (FYI)
    • Find Your Impact is a panel discussion that brings together VAC partner agencies and students to network and discover volunteer opportunities both on and off campus. Students will learn about each organization's mission, the services they provide and how they can get involved.
  • Make a Difference Day (MADD)
    • In the fall semester, the Student Engagement Team partners with local agencies in the NWA community to host service projects for students, faculty, staff, and community members to participate in a single day of service. You can choose from a variety of projects and serve as a Project Leader or a general volunteer.
  • Spring Week of Service
    • March 30-April 2 is Spring Week of Service. The Student Engagement Team will host various projects and events that week to celebrate service on our campus and throughout the community.
  • Freshman Service Program
    • Each month, the Freshman Service Program partners with local non-profit agencies to plan multiple one-time service projects for freshmen to get involved.
