About

Come enjoy one of Florida’s most beautiful and historic spots! Cape Florida, home to the iconic 1825 lighthouse, offers stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean and Biscayne Bay. It’s also a place rich in history—once a refuge for Seminole Indians and freedom seekers heading to the Bahamas. Today, it’s the perfect place to relax, explore, and connect with the past.

Ways to Get Involved:

  • Give lighthouse tours and chat with visitors as a docent (we’ll train you!)
  • Share stories and bring history to life for guests
  • Help restore native habitats by removing invasive plants
  • Pitch in with light maintenance like trash pickup or restroom cleaning
  • Build skills that could lead to a future job with Florida State Parks

To volunteer with us, please get in touch with Park Services Specialist Summer Holiday at Alexandra.Holiday@FloridaDEP.gov
