About
π§ Be the Reason Someone Gets Help. Be the Voice That Saves a Life.
Mental health matters — and you can be part of the solution. Whether you're a student, first responder, or community member, JCS is offering free, life-saving mental health trainings that empower you to make a difference.
π About the Program
Jewish Community Services of South Florida, through a federally funded SAMHSA grant, has partnered with Miami Dade College and Miami Dade Fire Rescue to provide evidence-based mental health awareness trainings. These include:
- Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR): A 2-hour suicide prevention gatekeeper training.
- Mental Health First Aid (MHFA): An 8-hour course that teaches how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders.
Trainings are available on-campus by request (ideal for student clubs) or through community sessions offered via webinar or in-person at Miami Dade Fire Rescue Headquarters in Doral.
