The Citadel's Krause Center for Leadership & Ethics

The Citadel's Office of Service Learning & Civic Engagement is all about giving back to a community we love so much. Last year The Citadel's students, faculty and staff committed 27,468 hours of service. This year's goal is to find creative and when possible, virtual ways to assist our community! Cadets, Veteran Day Students, and Graduate Students here at The Citadel have a variety of opportunities to serve the communities they live in through both one time service opportunities and weekly commitment projects. Some of the options available include after school programs, fighting homelessness and food insecurity, empowering people who have disabilities, affirming veterans and health/wellness awareness, and sustaining green and safe environments. In a time of COVID-19, our service opportunities may seem more limited, many of our partners, such as schools have not figured out how volunteers can help from a distance, but we are continually looking for ways to grow The Citadel's support of those important organizations and populations that make up our greater Charleston community and beyond.
