The purpose of the Department of First Year Experience is to provide transitional services for incoming freshman, as well as actively encourage participation in university events. Our department provides opportunities for leadership and individual growth through the Student Orientation Staff. SOS assists new students with their academic, personal, cultural and social transition to UCA and exposes new students to the broad educational opportunities within the institution. Our department and SOS together help new students and their families become familiar with the policies, programs, resources, and the student lifestyle of the University of Central Arkansas.
