Be a Student Leader at Outdoor School this spring! - Envoronmental Education/ Leadership Experience

Monday, March 4th from 8:00am to Friday, May 31st, 2019 12:00pm (PT)

About

Be a Student Leader at Outdoor School this spring! The Northwest Outdoor Science School seeks PCC students to volunteer for ONE WEEK at one of our five camps in NW Oregon. Student Leaders teach fun, hands-on activities about nature, conservation and the outdoors to sixth-grade students each day, and also serve as the students' cabin leaders for the week.

New sessions begin each week between March 4th and May 31st. We now have five sites available to volunteer at: two sites on the Oregon coast (Camp Magruder and Camp Westwind) and three sites in the beautiful Oregon forest (Camp Cedar Ridge, Camp Trickle Creek, and the new Camp Creekside).

No experience is necessary – all training is provided on-site by our professional, dedicated and fun staff members. You only need to enjoy children and the outdoors, and be willing to dedicate yourself in full for one week to create a life-changing experience for sixth-grade students. Volunteers have the opportunity to earn college credits through PCC (ED 2018: Outdoor School Leadership or ED 214 Practicum: Outdoor School).

For information or to volunteer, contact Chad Stewart, Volunteers Facilitator of the NW Outdoor Science School, at cstewart@nwresd.k12.or.us or 503-614-1403. Visit our website at www.nwoutdoorschool.org to learn more about our program and to see photos of our sites and activities.
