About

The purpose of the Wagner College K-12 School Visits is to support Staten Island and New York City Schools in preparing students to be college and career ready. The initiative is spearheaded by the Center for Leadership and Community Engagement at Wagner College, where it aims to work with partnering schools across a pipeline to bring college awareness to students in local partnering neighborhoods, specifically Port Richmond. However, the initiative works to serve schools across the five boroughs and in the tri-state area. The program works to support the 30,000 Degrees for a Stronger Staten Island initiative, which aims to increase the amount of college degrees by 30,000 by 2025. Furthermore, the program supports the New York City Department of Education “College Access for All” initiative.

We are seeking college students to conduct tours of the College and facilitate hands-on activities with elementary, middle and high school students on weekday mornings. We encourage you to sign-up and share your college experience with these students.

if you have any questions, please contact Pedro Santiago at pedro.santiago@wagner.edu or liam.abate@wagner.edu.
