In collaboration with Campus Dining Services, the Basic Needs Center is collecting meal swipes to fight food insecurity on campus. Anyone with a meal plan can donate one or two meal swipes. Volunteers for this event will table at various dining halls to encourage students to donate meal swipes.
Meal swipes will be collected January 30th-February 1st at the following locations:
- C4C Dining Center
- Village Center Dining
- Alferd Packer Grill
- The Alley
- Sewall Dining Center
- SEEC Café
All volunteers will be expected to attend a volunteer orientation on Monday, January 29th at 5:30pm. Please register for this shift. During this orientation, you will receive more information on your specific roles, and you can ask any questions you have before your shift. Be advised that you will not be overseen during your shift, so your attendance at orientation is essential to be aware of your responsibilities.
If you have a conflict and cannot attend orientation, you must let us know in advance. Those that do not attend orientation without notice will not be allowed to volunteer for this event.

Requirement Details
Wondering if you should register to volunteer? Based on the CDC guidelines, we are asking you the following questions:
- Have you been exposed to someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19? See the CDC’s risk assessment guidance.
- Do you have symptoms consistent with COVID-19? Symptoms can include a cough or shortness of breath or at least two of the following: Fever, Chills, Repeated shaking with chills, Muscle pain, Headache, Sore throat, New loss of taste or smell. See the CDC’s symptom information.
If you answered "yes" to any of those questions, we ask you not to register. We are doing all we can to align with best practices and keep our community healthy.
