The Immigrant Learning Center, Inc. (ILC) Public Education Institute seeks motivated RESEARCH ABSTRACT WRITERS. 

Your creativity is needed to help write abstracts of research on U.S. immigration for The ILC's Immigration Research Library website that can be easily understood by the average Americanhttp://www.immigrationresearch.org/ 

The ILC Immigration Research Library is a free, online collection of contemporary U.S. immigration reports, briefs, fact sheets, infographics, news and events. The Library hosts (with links to original sources) more than 1,500 downloadable U.S. immigration research reports with simple, straightforward abstracts drawn from respected universities and research institutes. This free Library is for anyone interested in U.S. immigration issues including students, researchers, journalists, teachers, advocates, policymakers and direct-service providers.

In these turbulent times, it is more important than ever to make accurate information on immigration easily and widely accessible 

Volunteer abstract writing is a wonderful opportunity for experts and students to use their knowledge and skills to help inform the work of policymakers, advocates and direct-service providers who look to The ILC Immigration Research Library for its extensive body of research on contemporary immigration issues. 

We will assign a report once per month that most closely match your interests. This position is fully remote and hours are flexible. The ILC Public Education Institute will provide a reference letter upon completion of projects and offer ongoing support and supervision. 


Requirements: 

·       Demonstrated experience and skills in academic and/or research abstract writing 

·       Ability to work independently and take initiative 

·       Graduate degree/students preferred, but undergraduates with strong writing skills, eagerness to learn and a passion for immigration issues are encouraged to apply 

Location: Work remotely/at home 

Duration and hours: One to two hours per month, all year
