The funding from the #GiveTogether Grant would help us enormously in our ongoing efforts to engage with our community on an individual and organizational level. Specifically, the $500 will fund our “Paint-a-Mural Project,” an opportunity for two WSU students to volunteer their time, artistic capabilities, and conceptual knowledge of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) to create a large mural above the front entrance of our downtown office building. The intent is to portray how DEI has become an integral part of our mission to empower our clients with intellectual & developmental disabilities (I/DD) and foster a more inclusive world. If we have any leftover funds, they'll go toward our annual community garden at our 6th St Res-Habilitation, which will in turn, provide many of our community members, including our staff, residents and partnering organizations like Inland Oasis' Westside Food Bank, with a colorful variety of fresh fruits & vegetables throughout the season.
